Public Open House
Please join us at a public open house to learn more about Xcel Energy’s plan to build a better, cleaner energy future by taking steps to create a smarter and stronger energy grid in your area and western Colorado, for a more secure energy supply. We will provide information about the project and discuss the benefits it will bring to your community. We will also explain the permitting requirements, planned construction methods and what the transmission line will look like upon completion.

Virtual Town Hall
Xcel Energy hosted a virtual town hall on May 25, 2021, to provide information about the electric transmission line rebuild prior to the submittal of Location and Extent permit applications to Garfield County and City of Glenwood Springs. View a copy of the presentation in English or Spanish.

Coordination with Jurisdictions
Fall 2023: A Location and Extent permit application and a 1041 permit application were submitted to the City of Glenwood Springs and a Location and Extent permit application was submitted to Garfield County in summer 2023. City of Glenwood Springs hearing information is provided below. County hearing details will be posted to this page, once confirmed. Oct. 19, 2020: Xcel Energy appeared before the Garfield County Board of County Commissioners to request permission to enter a county-owned property located in Glenwood Springs to perform surveys and studies for the project. View a copy of the presentation here.
